Saturday, June 9th Packet pick-up and race registration from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. There will be no race day registration (Sunday). Pre-race meetings at 12:00, 2:00 and 3:00pm for Age Group and Relays. And a 13-15 Age Group and Junior specific pre-race meeting at 3:00 p.m. (which can be attended by other Age Groupers also). Sunday, June 10th 6:00 a.m. to 6:45 a.m. Athlete check-in, body marking, bike racking. Transition area opens at 6:00 a.m. Transition area closes at 7:10 a.m. All bikes must be racked and the transition area cleared at this time. No exceptions! Triathlon Starts at 7:15 a.m. 13-15 Year Old AG Start The awards ceremony will begin after the last finisher completes the course. No Race Day Registration! Packet Pick-upWe highly encourage you to attend packet pick-up at the race site between 11:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 9th. This will be a good time to see the venue, meet with race officials and have any questions answered. There will be pre-race meetings on Saturday at 12:00, 2:00 and 3:00 pm. Valuable race information will be presented at these meetings. You will receive race numbers in your packet. One number must be attached to your bike in a place where it can be seen by race officials, on the top or down tube. The run number must be worn on the front of your body during the run portion of the event. You will be body marked on race morning. You must be body marked before you will be allowed into the transition area. Transition AreaOnly participating athletes will be allowed into the transition area. Family, friends and non-participants are not allowed into the transition area. You will not be allowed in unless you have been body marked. You will not be allowed to remove your bike after the race unless you have the matching body marking or race numbers. Absolutely no glass containers are allowed into the transition area. The transition area is a high security zone for the safety of the athletes and the security of the bicycles. USAT MembershipYou must have a valid USA Triathlon annual membership card and a photo I.D. for packet pick-up. If you do not have a valid USA Triathlon annual membership card with you or you are not a USAT member, you will be required to purchase a one day license at the event. This option is also available at the time of on-line registration. If you have recently purchased an annual USA Triathlon membership but do not have your card, you may print a temporary card at the USAT website, www.USATriathlon.org. Pre-Race MeetingsThere will be pre-race meetings on Saturday, June 9th at 12:00 and 2:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. Attending one of these meetings is highly encouraged and will be very helpful come race day. Valuable race information will be presented and you will have the opportunity to ask any and all questions you have about the event, the course, and the rules. You can coordinate attending a meeting with picking up your race packet. Please plan on attending one of these meetings! Transition Information The transition area opens at 6:00 a.m. Bikes may be racked after the transition area opens. You must be body marked before you will be allowed into the transition area. Participating athletes will be the only ones allowed into the transition area before, during and after the race. There is no required bike check-in. You are responsible to make sure your bike is in proper working order. You will not be allowed to remove your bike from the transition area after the race until all competitors have finished the bike portion of the race. You must have the body marking or race number that corresponds to your bike number to retrieve your bike from the transition area. This is necessary to provide security for all of the competitor’s bikes. Aid StationsThere will be no aid stations on the bike course. You will be responsible for all of your liquid and other energy needs. Please plan accordingly. There will be one aid station on the run course It will have water, sports drink and ice. Please help our volunteers keep the course clean and the local residents happy by only discarding any cups and other trash at the aid stations. Thank you !! We want to keep the neighborhoods clean and happy so we can enjoy future races at this venue. Swim Course500 meter open water swim with a time trial start (participants will start individually at approximate 5 second intervals). The 13-15 AG will swim 250 meters. Wetsuits are not required but are encouraged. A water tempature of 70 degrees is expected. Bike CourseThe bike course is open to traffic. Ride on the right hand side of the course unless instructed otherwise by a police officer or race official or you are passing. Safety on the course is our number one priority! Please be careful and ride safely. Please be courteous and kind to the police officers. They are there to help keep you safe. Feel free to thank them for their efforts. We all appreciate it! Without their support, we could not have the event. Run CourseTakes place inside the Promontory area. The course will be well marked and there will be plenty of our top-notch volunteers at strategic locations. Again, the course is open to traffic and even though it will be marked, some drivers are a little impatient, so keep an eye out for them. FinallyThank you for your participation! We are excited that you have chosen to participate in the Greeley Triathlon. This is a race put on by triathletes for triathletes. We will do everything possible to insure you have an enjoyable experience. Feel free to address any questions to any of the race organizers and officials during packet pick-up, pre race activities, and during the event.
